The Bottle

I am a firm believer that you should never do this with your child. That they should always be held as if you are nursing them. Jason only gets one or so bottles a day(nursed the other times)... but here he is... feeding himself at 3 months. It is just too cute how he put his hands on the bottle that the blanket is holding up.

Sugar Cookies

We made sugar cookies. Morgan decorated one almost the whole time. That way she got to lick her knife as often as she wanted. The others did about 4 and then licked their knife. The rule is you can decorate as many as you want but as soon as you lick your knife you are done and that one is yours.

Three months old... Dec. 14, 2009

He is just so cute I had to put all of these pictures up. He is doing great and continues to grow like a weed. No doctors visit so we weighed him with Trevor on the scale and he was

15 lbs.

He has out grown all of the one piece 3-6 month clothes.

So we have a three month baby who is wearing 9 month clothes...

a first for us!!!

He is happy, happy, happy and loves to chew on his hands.

He sleeps through the night, which is 6 hours in a row, most nights.

Irish 2009 Update

This has been a wonderful year. Here is a little bit of who we are this year.

Jason Was born September 14, 2009.
He is happy, healthy and a wonderful baby boy. Jason smiles at everyone who talks to him. He loves to eat.
Coos occasionally. Just started to laugh and is simply wonderful.

Morgan is the cutest two year old I have just about ever seen. She keeps up with her older siblings and thinks she can do anything and everything they do. She loves babies, rubber ducks, stuffed animals, purses, wrestling with Zach, chips, flannel blankets, cars, playing with Katie and helping with Jason.

Zach is five, in preschool and is quite the boy. He loves ropes, making traps, cars, movies, his own way, things that squirt water, magnets, sugar, wrestling, airplanes, candy, soft clothes, teasing and all the typical “boy” things. He is starting to write his name, has the best pirate face, puts away his own laundry, always reminds me of things I have forgotten and is simply Zach.

Katie is seven, in the second grade, lost 4 teeth thus far (they are all bottom teeth), and is quite the helper. Katie is a remarkable student, great mother’s helper and an excellent big sister. She loves to run, dance, play school, three musketeers, having friends over, Webkinz, cats, taking pictures, listening to music, having fun and organizing people into playing what she wants to play.

Jennifer is a mother of four. She loves to laugh, have fun with her children, make menus, shop, girls night out, smiles, photography, dates, massages, talking on the phone, blogs, baby sitters and time with family. Jennifer does all the typical mother/wife things and is content with life, well - on most days.

Trevor is either at work, doing homework, working on the house or spending time with the family. He loves to bike, his children, activia, watching football, his phone not ringing, wrestling with his children, a good nap, his breaks from school and knowing that he will be done with school next June! He rarely has time to breathe but always seems to get it all done, he is amazing.

Tis the Season

So why is Christmas not as magical as they used to be????? I have been thinking about that. Christmas used to be a time of such excitement, anticipation and fun. Now it seems to be a time of wrapping, shopping, planning, hiding, cooking, and hanging lights. What happened to the magic... I guess it is the evolution of Christmas in ones life. The other side of fun is now my turn the planning, preparing and pulling it off.
I want to break that chain, I need to find the magic, even if it is through my children. I need to think hot chocolate and sugar cookies are a special treat, that candy canes are yummy, get excited over all the little stuff that makes it full of the spirit. Yes, I have seen years of lights on houses but to get excited when we see yet another house with lights. To never tire of such holiday things and to want to do them day after day.
I think Christmas looses it's magic when it becomes work. So next year... I will have the work done earlier so in December it can just be magical. Even if I don't have the same magic of my childhood I can have the excitement and feel the magic I see in the eyes of my children.

So sorry to the presents not finished, you will have to be new years gifts. I am going to enjoy the last week before Christmas.

Ward Christmas Party

We had dinner, a program and then the primary children got to go up and sing a few songs. Katie and Zach both didn't want to go at first. They both finally went up. However, a few minutes later here came Zach. He sat down and as I asked if he wanted to go back up he told me he quit. He said, "I quit, I quit, I quit that." so he was done. Then I asked Trevor where Morgan was and... she had gone up with the children and stood with them the whole time they sang. She just wandered up and back when they were done and love it... to funny!

Zach's performance

Zach's preschool performed at the Festival of Trees. It was fun to watch him. He sang every song, did all of the actions and was great. When he first came out he had this cute grin on his face until they started the program. I love watching my children perform... they are just so cute and talented why wouldn't anyone want to watch them. (smile, smile)

We got to see Santa there too. Zach couldn't think of what to tell him so this Santa said he would surprise him. Morgan wouldn't even get close to him, not even for a candy cane.

The did a really good job. I only put up the really breakable ones, broke up a few " I was going to put that one up", and made sure we had holiday joy.
Of, course we couldn't even start until we had a fire going, per Zach. He said we do it every year, so a fire I made and the decorating began.

It was a fun night. I loved watching the children get all excited about Christmas. It was also nice to talk to them about our Savior and what this season means. I will cherish these holidays when they are little and hold on to them for when they are bigger and not so "cute".

Katie's missing tooth

Katie has now lost four teeth, all on the bottom. We were so grateful it finally fell out. It was so loose that is was gross... it needed to come out but she wouldn't let anyone pull it out and several people offed to do it over thanksgiving. She is a tooth lighter and a dollar richer. Oh, the joys of childhood!

We LOVE these boots. Katie still loves cat print and so these boots were perfect... day after thanksgiving find... I love really good deals.

I forgot the camera for any activity with the Irish side, sad about that. So I am waiting for them to post so I can snag a few.

It was a fun weekend. Thursday, a.m., hung out with my family. Went to Kmart in the morning, Trevor - Garrett - Eric went and played turkey bowl with Shane, helped with dinner, ate and ate, went to Bob and Julee's for dessert, planned shopping for the next day. It was a perfect Thanksgiving day. I am thankful for family and food!

Friday was shopping, shopping, shopping, a nap, dinner, wrapping and bed. Yes, we were at our first store at 5:00 a.m. and didn't finish until around 1:30 p.m. It was a blast... went with my mom, Cathy and Brittany. I am thankful for this tradition and good deals!

Saturday the children went to Grandma's for the morning, they made ornaments. We had lunch there and then home to chill out. I ran to a few other stores that afternoon with Cathy and Jessica. That night I went and saw New Moon with my Irish family, super fun. I am thankful for shopping, movies and the fun that comes with it.

I loved being with the family, both sides. Family makes the Holidays PERFECT.
