During Breakfast!

I got the camera out to upload pictures and Morgan saw it and just started smiling. I thought is was so cute, egg and all, that I had to capture the moment.

Primary Program

At church the children ages 3-11 get to do a program every year. Which I have to say is the best Sacrament meeting of all year. They each get to say a part and sing songs they have been learning and practicing all year. Katie was a child still in heaven(why she is in all white) and Zach was a child on earth. Katie's part was," So the voice of the prophet is like the voice of the Lord's?" Which the missionaries then answered. Zach"s part was, "I can be like Jesus by... reading the scriptures." They both did a great job, they were the best! Katie said her part perfectly and Zach said the first part really fast then looked at the helper for the rest of it (after the....). Katie of course knew all of the songs and Zach even knew part of each of the songs. (Which is good for being one of the youngest up there.) I was a glowing parent watching my children standing in the front singing songs about our Savior and knowing that they had gained some knowledge of him and our purpose here on earth. Testimonies start early in life and I am glad my children are already learning and growing in the gospel.

Pumpkin Patch

We had a great time at the Pumpkin Patch. The children got to ride in the wheelbarrow and get out when they want to go hunting for the perfect pumpkin. Our only rule is that they have to be able to carry the pumpkin you pick.

Katie didn't ride for long and was out looking for the pumpkin of choice. She looked and looked and finally found one she loved. Because you have to check to make sure it has a good stem, a good shape, the color she wanted and it was in good condition. A lot goes into picking of the perfect pumpkin. You can't just do it on a whim.

Zach and Morgan liked cruising in the lady bug mobile. Although Zach wasn't fond of when we would put the pumpkins in though, they would touch him.

We went for F.H.E. while Bushka and Papa were here so we could share the fun. The children also got a lot of the tiny pumpkins to play with and to paint. This is our favorite patch because you can go into the field if you want. Now every time we walk past the pumpkins on the porch they talk about them and get smiles on their faces. That is why I love all of this - their smiles!

Fun with Papa

When my parents were here for a visit they brought me this spider I had gotten from a sister in my MTC district. The children just loved it. Zach put it on a rope and then the fun started. Papa would hid and get the children by swinging the spider at them. The would scream, jump and run the other way. We were all laughing and I LOVED seeing them have such a wonderful time. After a while Zach got a little scared but Katie was full force until the spider had to take a break. I loved all of the laughter and can't wait for more!

Mouse Cupcakes

Zach found the recipe(picture) in a book from Pampered Chef kids book. We had to make them. So we got all of the ingredients, which Zach made the list, and made them on Friday when Katie didn't have school. They had such a good time. I think we will have to make fun treats like this more often!

(Fun and easy.)Zach is playing with the computer. He loved(s) do to that. He loved it so much he even got to popping off the keys. If Trevor would leave it out and open he was a happy camper until some one would find him and take away all the fun. We only had to replace the key board once. The "R" key wouldn't say on. yeah for us. After that the computer never really got left out again.

Pray for a YES!

I copied this from my friends blog and thought I would ditto her comments. I also added a few good sites to go visit(from her comment section) for information! It amazes me at how far we have fallen as a society to come to this. Let us all pray for our children that it passes!

"YES on Proposition 8!

I just want to give a shout out to California urging them to pass Proposition #8. I am committed to defending and upholding the family in our society. I have recently viewed several e-mails on this topic and wish to alert to some of the alarming things that can follow if proposition 8 does not pass. In Massachusetts they are teaching "diversity" and sending children home with illustrated children's books that promote homosexuality. They have even denied parents the right to have their children "opt-out" of the curriculum. If they can mandate such teaching in federal schools, how long will it be before the ACLU will be trying to mandate such teaching elsewhere, possibly even churches. Will they prosecute us for not teaching this as a "hate crime?" How much our society will change, who knows, but are we really willing to risk what is at stake? Love everyone as children of God, but please, please, please pass proposition 8 and protect the unit God has set up to bring children to this earth.

Our little PIRATES

Here are my three Pirates!

Saturday morning view!

This is the winter wonderland we woke up to on Saturday morning. It had started to snow in the night and didn't stop until late in the evening on Saturday. The children were excited. They had to play in the snow twice that day. And of course, had hot chocolate with dinner.

Zach loved it, until he got cold. The dinosaurs he got for his birthday loved it too. They had several adventures in the snow.
Katie could have stayed out all day if we just had our snow equipment found and /or bigger sizes bought for the season. But really, does it snow this much in October...

Morgan, well, was interested at first but then was not into the snow. Since she is still crawling there was no freedom and she was not going to touch the cold snow.

But still a very cute snow bunny!

Trevor got stuff cleaned up out of the yard. Like hoses and summer stuff. It was on his to do list but he didn't think he would have to get all suited up in his snow gear to do it. Saturday afternoon we heard a weird noise outside and looked and saw that a branch from on of our trees had fallen. The trees haven't lost any leaves yet and the snow was really wet, heavy.

SUNDAY

It had snowed a little bit more in the night. On Saturday night Trevor measured in the back yard and it measured about 9 inches. In other parts I am sure it would be over a foot.

WE are just HAPPY that they didn't land on anything they could hurt, such as cars, animals, etc. Our neighbors had one land on their house and two fall on their truck - no major damage thankfully! If you walked under them on Sunday when the sun was out it was as if it was raining outside. All the snow was melting and getting the weight off of the tree limbs, yeah!!!!!

Even with all of this I still love snow. I think I always will. It seems to make the world a better place, cleaner and nicer. We like to call snow natures frosting.

(we did have to explain to Zach that it is different than "real" frosting.)

Trevor went and helped a friend get his truck unstuck and then dig out his house in which he is building so the floors wouldn't be ruined so guess what we are doing today and for F.H.E. -

Snow clean up, tree limb removal and probably some playing too.

Okay the official measurement was 14" in a 36 hour period.

A Priate Party

Zach had a wonderful Pirate Party.

His friends came and we read the book"How I Became a Pirate".

After the book was finished we discovered that some pirates came and had hidden all of the party stuff. However, they had left buried treasure maps to find all of the loot. First we got our gems back. Then came the plates, cups and napkins.

Third was all of their pirate gear: swords and eye patches.

They got all geared up and went looking for the gold coins. When they got to the coins there was a pirate guarding the coins and they had to over power him to find the coins. Thank goodness they did and we were able to get the party in order.

Then it was time to

Open Presents.

I don't know who was more excited - Zach or his friends!

Cake Time!

It was a super fun because the cake was actually a treasure cake.

(We call it a money cake, there was really money hidden inside)

It was so much fun to Attack Trevor( aka Zach's Dad) that they had to to it over and over and over and over again. I think it was the best part of the party!

(Thank goodness Trevor was such a good sport about it.)

However, plastic swords do hurt so we went to pirate balloons for the attacks.

As we came to the END Trevor told them a pirate story they were all in. When would cheer as pirates they would all raise their balloons and say, "RRRRRRRRRRRGGGG"

After we went to dinner at the restaurant of Zach's choice, McDonald's.

It was fun and Zach loved it, I guess that is why I love doing parties so much. If you look in the pictures we are smiling and laughing. A major joy in life!

The big 4!

ZACH IS FOUR!

Yesterday we celebrated Zachary's fourth birthday. He had a wonderful day. He woke up to opening presents and getting his brownies with the candles and song all before 8:30 a.m.

He loved EVERY part of it, especially opening presents.

Every time we would say happy birthday or what does the birthday boy want he would beam. He got to get a kids meal for lunch and have a relaxing day all about him. He even got to pick out dinner too, the yummy mac and cheese. Tomorrow we are having his pirate party and will go out to dinner, this is a tradition, family dinner out to celebrate birthdays!(nice for mom)

We can hardly believe Zach is four. Where has the time gone? He is a complete joy to have around and can brighten any day, if he choices. He does try our patients with his clothes issues, words, and throwing things but we love him through it all. When he smiles he just melts our hearts. We are so glad to have been blessed with him in our lives and wouldn't ask for him to be anything but him.

ME AND MY HAIR!

-Okay here is a WHITE HAIR update -

And with all of this I have only been asked once if I was Katie's Grandma!

Yes, just the once but I am sure many others have wondered what is going on with her! At least that is what the most resent looks have seemed to resemble. Oh the joys of being my own kind of beautiful at 33. (hahahahahahahahaha)

I have decided to be a skunk for Halloween, I think I will be one of the best out there. With my hair like this it really makes the costume easy. :)
